The First Year Ski Trip. By Theresa Bílková.
Tereza Bilkova recaps the details of the 2011 ski trip that first-year students at the Evangelical Lyceum enjoy.
The 2011 Ski Trip.
The students from I.A, I.B and Kvinta classes went on a ski trip from 23 to 28 January 2011. As is traditional, the classes went to Mýto pod Ďumbierom in Slovakia. Each year the trip is organized by our physical education teacher. The goal of the trip is for the students to learn to know each other better because we will be spending a lot of time together during our high school years.
The Trip to the Hotel.
The journey started very good cause we were singing with the guitar, but at the end of the journey our bus was damaged. Still we arrived at the hotel which was at the frozen lake and near the ski hill. The hotel was just for us.
The hotel included nightclub, common room, dining room
and rooms with television where we lived during our vacation.
We arrived in afternoon so we unpacked our suitcases, and in the evening the teachers explained the program and rules to us.

The days started early when the teachers woke us up, and we skied all four days.
The first day the sun was shining and we were separated to five groups. Immediately we could go skiing. I personally was in the beginner group, but we did not go skiing, only taught techniques and trained it. At first it was something unknown, hard and I often fell down but it was funny to go on the ski tow. Fortunately I and other people had ski equipment that includedhelmet, ski goggles, ski mask, ski clothes, gloves, ski poles, ski boots and skis, too.
The next day it was a great feeling skiing but the weather was worse and it was snowing the following day. It was the best conditions to go skiing. At lunch everybody relaxed and ate together.
Then we went to the chair lift from which was a nice view.
Later when we were exhausted we went to the hotel by bus and you could do whatever: play ping-pong, cards, hockey, common games...
Almost everybody played ping-pong together. It was the most fun because we played it only with two rockets. In the evening one of the skiing groups developed and performed a porgram. Many people said they liked last night when we had a dance party. The last day everybody was sad that the trip was over.
It was very very nice experience, and the next I.A/B, kvinta classes can look forward to their own ski trip.
