On 25 May 2011, thirteen students were showing their speech skills at the World English speech festival at the the Evangelical Lyceum.

“I joined the speech contest because I wanted to improve my speaking and get some good rhetorical techniques which may help me later in the life,“ said Kika Mojžišová,  one of the speakers at the Speech Festival. This festival was organized by Mr. and Mrs. Fredell, who also helped students with their speeches. Kika said:“Professors Fredell really helped me and inspired me, teaching me about how the speech should look and what the speech should contain. I really thank them for that.“

Besides challenging you, the Speech Festival improved your english and your speaking.  Kika also said it helped her with her fright and her verbalization, “I had to speak in front of my friends, schoolmates, classmates, professors and I had to face my stage-fright, control my thoughts and speak fluently.“

Kika, who won the second prize in the category for first and second year students, got a 20 euro voucher for the Panta Rhei bookstore.  I think the festival had many advantages and it is a really great event. This is a good oportunity for other students who want to show their hidden talent. Kika commented, “I felt proud of myself and I knew that the hours sacrificed to practice were not a waste of time.“ After Kika´s words , I think I will be there the next year.
