Professor Andrej Žitňan, religion teacher at E.L, is 35 years old. He is from Piešťany but for 11 years, he has lived live in Bratislava. He has a wife who is also teacher at Evanjelicke Lýceum but at Palisády.  They do not have children but  he told me that maybe about a few years they will have children. He studied theology and after his study, he became a religion teacher. Because as he told me , he „loves working with young people.“

Many people know that the profesor is from Piešťany, but few know that he used to fly with gliders there. He could fly with glider free because it was something like practice for war. But about some years government stopped this preparing because they weren‘t afraid of war. He is a very modest and educated person. He speaks English very well.

Professor told us something that now sounds impossible. He admitted that in high school he wasn´t a favourite among his classmates. He told that he was always thoughtful and didn´t have many friends. But now he is one of the best teachers at the school and many people like him. How is it possible? Maybe God changed his thoughts and give  his life new direction. Professor also told something more surprising that he in age about 15 didn´t believen in God. “I met believer people who told me about God,” he said.

 He likes working at the Evanjelicke Lyceum and when questioned if he thinks that students like him, he answered jokingly, “Certainly not”. But, of course, everybody likes him because of his good approach to life and his positive energy which he gives to other people. We should give him one big “thank you” for his lessons during which we can learn new interesting facts.
