What some of the new students are thinking about as they prepare to come to our school in September.

On 5 September 2011 new students will be coming to the Evangelical Lyceum. They want to be better in English.

Students who want to learn in this school had to make acceptable grades on tests in March. They were preparing for them very hard. Their work was great because 60 of them are in our bilingual section. For example, Lucila Lukáčová and Samuel Ninchuc are new students. Both Lucila and Samuel have been students in our school system for a long time.  Lucia, “ I am here when I started base school.“ Samuel said, “I came one year later so I am here from second class base school.“

Now they are looking forward to knowing new students and to learning more things and to be better in English.

When I asked what was the hardest thing on the tests they answerd, “Math. Exactly math.“ These two students weren´t sure if they would go to this school. So they decided that they would take other acceptance tests at other schools. But after they realised that they were accepted in our Lyceum, they stood faithful to our school.

These new students think that this school will help them prepare for the future.  When asked about staying in Slovakia after graduation, Lucila answered, “I want to go away of course. I want to have more knowledge and I want to try something new. But I am girl and I hope that in a foreign country there are more handsome boys then here. So I want to find some handsome husband there.“

At the end, I asked them if they know that they won´t have a lot of free time. They said that they knew about it.  When asked about their free time, Lucila said, “I want to see my friends on the weekends and during the holidays. But if you think that I will be learning the whole day, you are wrong. I don´t want it. So every day I will have time for me. And I love Zumba so I want to stay faithful to Zumba.“
