It´s soon going to be 15 years from the day when Alena quit her job in the school cafeteria and started to work as a janitress. I asked her what she likes about her job and she said that, “she likes meeting the people and the communication with them. But what she absolutely doesn´t like is when the students don´t say hello or when they´re rude.”  Her children were often sick, so she couldn´t do a job with many hours and that was the reason she decided to do this job. “I think that I don´t have to be afraid of something because there are about 200 people living in the dorm. So if something happens, I´m not alone,” was her answer when I asked her what she is afraid of on her night job. She had only one big problem with the students and it was when they came in drunk.  

Alena also told me something about her hobbies.  She really likes cooking, listening to the radio and solving the SUDOKU puzzles.  In her free time, she is with her four grandchildren or she knits. The last thing that she told me was her favorite quote and it is  “When you give of yourself, you receive more than you give” (Antoine de Saint Exupery)
