Miroslav Cambel gives us a glimpse of dorm life at the E. L.

Do you know how the Lyceum students live at the dorm? It’s totally different from living at home. Every day after school, students from far away don’t go to Kremnicka to catch a bus home. It would be tough for them to come to Bratislava every day.  They take the elevator, go to their floor, and that ride takes them home.

I think most students like living here in the dorm. It’s much more fun, your parents don’t command you all the time, you meet with students of your age, and can do many things together. Probably the most boring activity is studying, and Lyceum students really have lots of it. But when we finish our homework, we can do whatever we want to. At our dorm, we spend our free time doing activities like playing computer games or soccer, going out, exercising, or just resting and relaxing.

Students in our dorm live in rooms that are divided into 2 smaller rooms, and there are 2 students in each of these.

I asked some people for their opinions on our dorm, and most things they said were good. People like it here, it doesn’t cost very much, we have a good collective and good technical supplies. But some bad things are that we have slow wi-fi, or the building is pretty old, and not so good.

One very good thing about living at dorm is that it teaches you responsibility and independence. It prepares you for the future. You can also find good friends there, so living at dormitory is quite good for young people.
